KPMG Insight's April 2023 report on the US economy discusses the potential landing scenarios for the US economy in 2023. The three scenarios are: an "immaculate disinflation" landing, a "base case" slow recession, and a "deep recession" landing. The report also includes a GDP growth forecast and an unemployment rate prediction for each scenario. The unemployment rate has remained stable at 3.4% since the start of 2023, with job growth mainly in the leisure and hospitality, professional and business services, and healthcare sectors. The report does not yet take into account the recent financial crisis, which may result in higher interest rates than before the pandemic.
