FOREWORD Moreover, the Chamber published the May 2025 FlashSurvey focusing on the trade conflict, and the BusinessConfidence Survey 2025/2026 themed “PartnershipsReloaded”. In addition, the 18th edition of the LabourMarket and Salary Report was released in July 2025.These publications offer important data and analyseson business sentiment and industry developments.They also serve as a main source for our media work tofurther amplify the voice of German business. In 2025, wepromoted cooperation with local media across China tosupport German companies in various regions. 2025was a year marked by shifting tradedynamics, uncertainty from supply-chaindisruption and increased price pressure in the Chinesemarket. At the same time, the pace of innovation in theChinese market intensified. To react to the ever morecomplex business environment, German companiesaccelerated their localization efforts and increasinglyengaged in partnerships with Chinese firms - bothstrategies to maintain competitiveness in China andglobally. Against this backdrop, the German Chamber of Commercein China continued to play a vital supporting role.Representing more than 1,800 member companies, weare committed to providing effective advocacy, marketinsights, tailored services and platforms for connectionand cooperation to help members seize opportunities andmanage risks in the Chinese market. Connecting members and expanding opportunities forexchange remained at the core of our work. In 2025 weorganized and hosted more than 250 events - includingthe Automotive Forum, ESG Day & More Than A MarketAward, the Dialogue series, the Xplore China series, theinspiring German Balls in Beijing and in Shanghai andvarious Oktoberfest - providing important platforms forpolicy exchange, business collaboration and communitybuilding. To make the voice of German companies in China heard,the Chamber engaged in more than 100 meetings withcentral and local Chinese government officials in 2025.These dialogues helped contribute to a more transparentand predictable business environment for Germancompanies in China. We thank our members, partners and supporters for theirtrust and engagement over the past year. Facing a futureof both challenges and opportunities, we will continue tochampion dialogue, advocate for a level playing field andsupport German companies in succeeding in the Chinesemarket. During German Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister ofFinance Lars Klingbeil’s visit to China in November 2025,we participated in several high-level exchanges to discussthe current business sentiment of German companiesin China and to underscore the crucial role of politicalsupport for their success.
