Cerealproduction is expected to ease from recordhighs but remains at historically elevatedlevels. Nevertheless, the outlook remainshighly contingent on weather developments,including emergence of El Niño, whichcontinueto pose significant risks toproduction. At the same time, rising conflictsandgeopolitical tensions,uncertaintysurrounding trade policies and broadermacroeconomic headwinds will still weighon trade prospects and market stability. Coarse grains Wheat Globalwheat production is forecast todecline in 2026, primarily driven by reducedoutputsamong major exporters,whileutilization is expected to remain broadlystable.With lower exportable suppliesand softer import demand, global wheattrade is set to contract, while stocks areanticipated to remain relatively comfortableoverallalbeit with tighter stock levelsamong key exporters. Following a record outturn in 2025/26,coarsegrain markets are expected tofacerenewed easing of production in2026/27. While global supplies are still setto remain historically high, the anticipateddecline in output-largely driven by lowermaizeproduction-maylimitfurtherrebuildingof stocks and keep marketfundamentals broadly balanced.
