About ACE Established on 1 January 1999, the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) is anintergovernmentalorganisationwithin the Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ (ASEAN) structure thatrepresents the 10 ASEAN Member States’ (AMS) interests in the energy sector.ACE ishosted by the Ministry of Energy and MineralResources of Indonesia inJakarta, Indonesia.ACE supports the implementation of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation(APAEC), a blueprint for better collaboration toward upgrading energy.The Centre is guidedby a Governing Council composed of Senior Officials on Energy from each of the AMS, and arepresentative from the ASEAN Secretariat. The three key roles of ACE are: •As acatalyst to unify and strengthen ASEAN energy cooperation and integrationby implementing relevant capacity building programmes and projects to assist the AMSdevelop their energy sector;•As the ASEAN energy data centre and knowledge hub, to provide a knowledgerepository for the AMS; and•As anASEAN energy think tankto assist the AMS by identifying and surfacing innovativesolutions for ASEAN’s energy challenges onpolicies, legal & regulatory frameworks, andtechnologies.
