Task 1 Strategic PV Analysis and Outreach TRENDS INPHOTOVOLTAICAPPLICATIONS2024 PVPSREPORT IEA PVPS T1-43:2024 PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY COLLABORATION PROGRAMME WHAT IS IEA PVPS TCP?........................................................................................................... The International Energy Agency (IEA), founded in 1974, is anautonomous body within the framework of the OrganizationforEconomicCooperationandDevelopment(OECD).TheTechnology Collaboration Programme (TCP) was created witha belief that the future of energy security and sustainabilitystarts with global collaboration. The programme is made upof thousands of experts across government, academia, andindustry dedicated to advancing common research and theapplication of specific energy technologies. ‘Tasks,’ that may be research projects or activity areas. Thisreport has been prepared under Task 1, which deals with marketandindustryanalysis, strategicresearchandfacilitatestheexchange and dissemination of information arising from the overallIEA PVPS Programme. The IEA PVPS participating countries in 2023 areAustralia,Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France,Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Morocco, theNetherlands,Norway,Portugal,SouthAfrica,Spain,Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Türkiye, and theUnited Statesof America. The European Commission, Solar Power Europe, theSmart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA), the Solar Energy IndustriesAssociation, the Solar Energy Research Institute ofSingaporeandEnercity SA are also members. The IEA Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme (IEA PVPS)is one of the TCP’s within the IEA and was established in 1993.The mission of the programme is to “enhance the internationalcollaborative efforts which facilitate the role of photovoltaic solarenergy as a cornerstone in the transition to sustainable energysystems.” In order to achieve this, the Programme’s participantshave undertaken a variety of joint research projects in PV powersystems applications. The overall programme is headed by anExecutive Committee, comprised of one delegate from eachcountry or organisation member, which designates distinct Visit us at: www.iea-pvps.org AUTHORS Main Authors:Gaëtan Masson, (Becquerel Institute), Melodie de l’Epine (Becquerel Institute France) Izumi Kaizuka (RTSCorporation) Analysis: Izumi Kaizuka (RTS Corporation), Elina Bosch, Philippe Macé, Gaëtan Masson, Adrien Van Rechem (BecquerelInstitute), Caroline Plaza, Anna Barguès (Becquerel Institute France), Johan Lindahl, Amelia Oller Westerberg (BecquerelSweden). This report presents theresults of the 27th international survey. It provides an overviewof PV power systems applications, markets and production in thereporting countries and elsewhere at the end of 2023 and analysestrends in the implementation of PV power systems between 1992and 2023. Key data for this publication were drawn mostly fromnational survey reports and information summaries, which weresupplied by representatives from each of the reporting countries.Information from the countries outside IEA PVPS are drawn from avariety of sources and, while every attempt is made to ensure theiraccuracy, the validity of some of these data cannot be assured withthe same level of confidence as for IEA PVPS member countries. This report is prepared to assist those who are responsible fordeveloping the strategies of businesses and public authorities, andto support the development of medium-term plans for electricityutilities and other providers of energy services. It also providesguidance to government officials responsible for setting energypolicy and preparing national energy pla
