This book offers one ofthe most comprehensive global reviews of how public employment services operate, providinga unique comparative perspective on their institutional frameworks, programs, and innovationsto support workers and firms. The World of Public Employment Services 2026: Delivering in a Changing World of Workusesa wide range of indicators to compare operational and institutional characteristics of 78 publicemployment services in 75 countries worldwide. This edition builds on the previous book pub-lished in 2016 and presents updated data and analysis reflecting recent developments in publicemployment services across regions. The book was prepared jointly by teams from the Social Protection and Labor Markets Division ofthe Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Local Employment and Economic DevelopmentProgramme of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (LEED/OECD), andthe World Association of Public Employment Services (WAPES). The core team consisted of Dulce Baptista (IDB), David Rosas-Shady (IDB), Amal Chevreau(OECD), Lucas Leblanc (OECD), Nicole Clobes (WAPES), and Alexander Nunn (University ofManchester).
