Today, mining in Peru operates within a modernframework that prioritizes sustainability, technological advancement, and inclusivegrowth. The country’s complex Andean geologyhas endowed it with an exceptional varietyof mineral resources, supported by a stableand predictable investment framework, solideconomic fundamentals, and a clear regulatorystructure. Together, these factors reinforcePeru’s position as a globally recognized reliableand attractive hub for long-term mininginvestment. Hugo de Zela Minister of Foreign Affairs Today, mining continues to be a key pillar ofPeru’s economic and social development, demonstrating resilience and steady growthacross several key minerals in 2025. Accordingto official reports from the Ministry of Energyand Mines, national mining production inSeptember 2025 showed positive increasesfor major metals such as copper (+2.7%), zinc(+17.5%), silver (+8.3%), lead (+7.5%) and tin(+3.2%) , while gold remained relatively stable(+0.1%), reflecting diverse performance acrosscommodities. The industry remained a keycontributor, with mining exports accountingfor close to two-thirds of total export receiptsin 2025 , and mining investment continued toexpand, with accumulated mining investmentreaching several million U.S. dollars by late2025 compared with the previous year. These results highlight mining’s continuedcontribution to Peru’s regional developmentand to the improvement of livelihoods acrossour mining regions. These results underscore not only thesector’s strong operational performanceand productivity, but also its capacity torespond effectively to evolving global marketconditions. By reinforcing its contribution to national growth, mining continues to positionPeru as a reliable and competitive participantin the international minerals market. This rolegenerates substantial revenue for the countryand strengthens Peru’s standing as a keysupplier of strategic minerals in an increasinglydynamic global landscape, where secure andresponsible partners are essential to supportthe global energy transition. as enshr
