Survey Coverageand Methodology 1.2The survey covered around13406companiesin differentbranchesof theindustry.By adopting the stratified random sampling method for selectingcompaniesfrom theCentralRegister ofEstablishmentsof the Census and Statistics Departmentand the list sourced fromHong Kong Monetary Authority, Chinese Gold & Silver Exchange Society, and the Securitiesand Futures Commission,and the inclusion of supplementary samples recommended by theTraining Board,a total of1 110companieswere selected for the survey. 1.3A pack of survey documents was given to each sampledcompany.The selectedcompanieswere asked to complete a questionnaire, which comprised two parts.Part Icollected quantitative manpower information by joblevelsand by principal jobs, and Part IIcollected supplementary information related tothe industry’smanpower situation.Therespondents were asked to provide manpower information of theircompaniesbased on a list ofprincipal jobs, which were defined by the Training Board with detailed job descriptionsgivenfor each job. 1.4Duringthe fieldwork period between end-March and early-September 2025,enumerators assisted the respondents tocompletethe questionnaire through phone calls or on-site visits.The data collection and enumeration processes were closely monitored and datawas verified to ensure quality and accuracy.Among the376valid sampledcompanies,331were successfully enumerated which contributed to an effective response rate of88.0%1. Manpower Projection Methodology 1.5The approach of statistical modelling for projecting the manpower demand of theBanking and Financeindustry was adopted for the period from2026to 2029.The statisticalmodel is built by considering relevant economic indicators which reflect important changes inthe local economy, demography and labour market.Details of the projection methodologyare providedinAppendix 8.
