As weenter the third year of the pan-demic, uncertainty remains high due to its unpredictable nature and evolution. Over the last twoyears, Covid-19 has dictated the course of the global tourism economy. However, the impact of thislingering uncertainty could be gradually losing momentum as destinations and consumers increas-ingly seek stability and adapt to a new normal. Covid-19 protocols are here to stay and will be key for 2022 will be a year of further adaptation to the realities brought about by the pandemic and emergingtourism trends. A year in which we in the tourismindustry continue to adapt and learn from experi-ences and feedback from travel consumers in the Covid-era. The future of leisure and business travel,the future of work, the climate emergency, support for local tourism economies and societies, and The Covid-19 disruption exposed how vulnerable the sectoris to external threats. Covid-19 may notbe the only phenomenon challenging the tourism sector in the years to come.
