The intent of the studywas to understand the global benefits trends associated withmultinationals around the world and to gather insights aboutthe roles, responsibilities and evolving priorities of globalbenefits professionals in multinational companies. Therefore,participation included respondents with benefits responsibilitiesfor employees in more than one country. Global Benefits Trends Study 2025We understand that the challenges you face are shifting,however, there are also opportunities to engage andleverage this major spend. As noted in Aon’s 2025Employee Sentiment Study1, employees at multinationalfirms express higher levels of satisfaction with theirwork and wellbeing, but they also expect more fromtheir employers in terms of benefits, compensation,and employer assistance. At the same, global benefitsprofessionals face mandates to manage costs, overseeholistic and innovative programs, and derive the mostvalue from their benefits spend. All of this takes placeamidst some of the most economically uncertain marketconditions in recent years. The challenge then is forglobal benefits professionals to provide programs andsolutions that attract and retain talent, while doing so ina predictable, value-driven, and cost-effective way. We have almost doubled the numberof participants since last year Executive Summary In 2025, as we look at the strategicpriorities in Global Benefits of ourrespondents’ companies, we see somemajor shifts from last year. However,this year’s more robust data set – builton a much larger respondent base than2024 – moves us a giant step closer tothe truest representation of industrysentiment that we can compile, providingadded credence to the findings globally,regionally, and by industry. Looking at the regional trends, we see that: ●In EMEA, surprisingly,Managing compliancedoes notrank in the top five, despite the fact that reportingunder the EU Pay Transparency Directive (whichincludes employee benefits in its definition of pay) willbegin in 2027, and there several significant pensionregulations that have been announced in that region(e.g., the Netherlands, Italy).2 ●APAC - which had amazing representation in thisyear’s respondent pool, with 103 APAC-headquarteredcompanies participating - is the only region puttingtheHealth and productivity of their employeesas a topfive priority. According to Alan Oates, Head of GlobalBenefits for APAC, this priority reflects the criticalimportance of service labor in APAC to the supplychain for many multinational organizations. “It is vitalthat the health and productivity of that workforce be ina good state, and the absolute size of the populationsmeans that small changes can have a large impact”.
