English/French/Spanishonly Trade and Development Board List of non-governmental organizations participatingin the activities of UNCTAD 1.Rule 77 of the rules of procedure of the Trade and Development Board provides fortheparticipation of non-governmental organizations in the activities of UNCTAD.Inaccordance with Board decision 43 (VII), a distinction is made between internationalnon-governmental organizations that exercise functions and have a basic interest in most ofthe activities of the Board and of its subsidiary bodies, and those that have a specialcompetence in and are concerned with specific matters falling within the terms of referenceof one or two subsidiary bodies or of the Board itself. The former is placed in the generalcategory and the latter in the special category. 2.As of September 2024, there are 245 non-governmental organizations included inthe list provided for in rule 77 of the Board’s rules of procedure: 151 in the generalcategory and 94in the special category.
