COMMENTS:Twenty-two(22)countries shared their meningitis epidemiologicaldata.A total of10,127suspected casesof meningitis including494deaths were reported, givinga case fatality rate of4.9%. Countries are urged to strengthen surveillance fortherapiddetection and effective response to meningitisepidemicsand toshare their updated meningitis data, ina timely manner.
