Year 3 • November 2025 • The Harris Poll Thought Leadership Practice AMERICANS & BILLIONAIRES SURVEY Methodology This survey was conducted online within the U.S. by The Harris Poll from August 7thto 9th, among a nationallyrepresentative sample of 2,106 U.S. adults. This research includes 414 Gen Z (ages 18-28), 622 Millennials (ages 29-44), 502 Gen X (ages 45-60), as well as 568Boomers (ages 61 and older). This report references data from 2022 within the U.S. by The Harris Poll from July 15th to 17th, among a nationallyrepresentative sample of 1,989 U.S. adults, including 184 Gen Z, 560 Millennials, 470 Gen X, as well as 775 Boomerrespondents. It also references data from 2024 from May 31stto June 2ndamong a nationally representative sample of2,117 U.S. adults, including 324 Gen Z, 545 Millennials, 542 Gen X, as well as 706 Boomer respondents. AMERICANS & BILLIONAIRES SURVEY Top Highlights •Wealth redefined:In 2025, two-thirds (66%) of young adults aspire for extreme wealth not for success but for security. As three-fourths of Gen Z and Millennials (73%) feel the pinch of inflation on everyday goods and services, it’s no wonder younger generationsare leaning into lucrative money-making methods such as AI development/business, content creation, and crypto-buying with greater •I want the billionaire money, but not the billionaire mindset:Americans struggle between billionaire admiration and disapproval. Six in10 Americans desire billionaire status despite over three-fourths (76%) admitting that billionaires benefit the most from a brokensystem. While three-quarters (74%) believe the ultra-wealthy are over-celebrated, most Americans (64%) agree that billionaires •Do “Good” billionaires exist? Americans hope so.Americans are eager to support the wealthy 1% who are willing to help, with eightin 10 (79%) saying they’re more likely to support a billionaire who goes against unjust systems. As inflation and economic turbulencecontinues to impact everyday quality of life, seven in 10 Americans remain firm that the ultra-wealthy holds moral responsibility, •Billionaires in the backseat, please.Over a third (35%) of Americans say the U.S. economy is an uneven playing field that caters tothe rich, as this year’s insights reveal that billionaires are impacting every corner of the country from jobs (54%), technology(72%),and politics (69%). Political turbulence in 2025 also shows a marked increase in Americans’ wariness against the wealthy, with over •Wealth regulations are wanted, even by boomers:Over nine in 10 (94%) Americans believe a wealth gap exists, with three-fourths(73%) reporting it’s a serious national issue (+2 pts since 2024). Across all ages and even political beliefs, Americans expressgreater desire this year for limits on wealth accumulation and hold steadfast to the idea of a wealth tax.
