That’s unique, and as thecomplexity of the challenges facing the world becomes more apparent, Ipieca’sconvening power will become even more valuable.Ipieca also recognises the growing importance of measuring performance, the affordable, reliable and accessible energy needed to fuel economic growthand improve living conditions for all. It is therefore essential to explore, develop,produce, refine and supply petroleum resources in ways that lower emissions,expand access to energy and water, reduce poverty, strengthen resilience, andhelp protect nature and local communities.In this context, Ipieca’s core role is to advance environmental and socialperformance across the energy transition, supporting the industry as it responds demonstrating impact, and clearly articulating the value of sustainability efforts.By advancing consistent approaches, shared tools, and credible metrics, wesupport our members in making informed decisions, strengthening businesscases, and delivering practical solutions that contribute to both energy securityand sustainable development. to rising energy demand, evolving expectations, and the realities of today’senergy system.‘Oil and gas are key pillars of the global energy system, providing a large share of the affordable, reliable andaccessible energy needed to fuel economic growth andimprove living conditions for all.’ CEO’s statement Ipieca’s 2025-2028 Strategy aims to align our members,the wider industry and stakeholders around collaborativeactions to address the world’s need for energy access andsecurity while also supporting a sustainable climate, thrivingecosystems and vibrant communities for generations to come.The strategy is being delivered through a holistic approach that integrates members, over 60 delegates from Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and NorthAmerica brought diverse perspectives on water stewardship management.Another of Ipieca’s core roles is to support UN conventions and initiatives. At COP30 in Brazil we co-hosted an official side event on ‘Just transition andadaptation: a global business dialogue’ and took part in other organisations’events and workshops. Throughout the year we provided industry technicalinputs to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the InternationalCivil Aviation Organization (ICAO), supporting them in their work to sustainablylower emissions from shipping and aviation.Stakeholders recognise that Ipieca provides the opportunity to engage with climate, nature and people, the development of good practice to advanceenvironmental and social performance, and capacity building to turn theknowledge and resources developed
