VC investment in supply chain technology swelled in 2021, nearlydoubling the deal value of the prior year. The severity and frequency of the economicshocks elevated many supply chain issues to the C-suite level. At the same time, thevolume of data from telematics, parcel scans, automatic identification system pings, electronic data interchange and API events, supplier portals, and news and socialmedia feeds provided fuel for cheaper and more mature machine learning (ML)and natural language processing systems and off-the-shelf models. Solutions couldthen be deployed in months, not years. With the release of generative AI (GenAI)systems such as ChatGPT, tools emerged to generate trade and customs paperwork, field inbound carrier calls with AI agents, and assist in planning and scenariobuilding with AI copilots. Supply chain tech startups developing anddeploying AI A wide variety of startups are developing and deploying supply chain AI solutions. The following are a handful of companies that offer unique approaches (many nativeAI) and/or have raised significant capital in recent years to spur development. Augment Augment was founded in 2024 by Harish Abbott, Artur Rivilis, and Justin Hall.Abbott has a background in operations research and was an early Amazonemployee. He went on to found Deliverr, which provided an Amazon Prime-likedelivery experience and was acquired by Shopify for $2.1 billion. Rivilis was VP ofengineering at Deliverr and Shopify. Augment emerged from stealth six months agoto launch its first product, Augie, for shippers, brokers, and carriers in the freightindustry. Augie is an AI agent designed to offload tedious work from frontlineoperators across the 200,000 shippers, 900,000 trucking companies, and 20,000brokerages across the US. The system makes and receives calls, manages email, and uploads data and documents, orchestrating across point solutions to boostproductivity among third-party logistics operators (3PLs). Augment raised $85million in an early-stage deal in September 2025. The deal followed a $25 millionseed round in March 2025 and resulted in a post-money valuation of $472 million. Auger Auger was co-founded by Dave Clark and Alex Ceballos in September 2024. Clarkhad a 23-year tenure at Amazon where he held experience across operations, including serving as chief supply chain officer and CEO of the Worldwide Consumerdivision. Clark left Amazon in 2022 for a short tenure as CEO of Flexport. Beforeleaving in 2022, Ceballos was at Amazon for 16 years and served as VP of theWorldwide Corporate Development division. He oversaw Amazon’s key acquisitionof Kiva Systems to bolster its warehouse robotics. Auger’s ambition is to transformglobal supply chains with an AI-powered operating system that can unify disparateunstructured data across existing inventory management systems, transportationmanagement systems (TMSs), and warehouse management systems (WMSs) andprovide seamless, real-time insights. Queries to the Auger system will be madethrough a simple user interface that leverages AI agents to structure operatorworkflows and simplify decision support. Clark estimates a $25 billion totaladdressable market for supply chain technology with a CAGR of nearly 20%.1Thestartup has attracted leaders from Amazon across operations, supply chains, demand forecasting, and analytics. In October 2024, it raised $100 million in anearly-stage round from Oak HC/FT. Altana Founded in 2018 by Evan Smith, Raphael Tehranian, and Peter Swartz, Altanahas developed a supply chain
