Authorities’ Response to Assessment Report ................................................................. 32 Acronyms and Abbreviations Overall Assessment Overview 1.This report provides an assessment of the data quality of the public sector debtstatistics of Botswana.The assessment was conducted against theIMF’s Data Quality AssessmentFramework (DQAF) for Public Sector Debt Statistics (PSDS) 2024.The DQAF lays out internationallyaccepted practices in statistics, ranging from good governance in data-producing agencies to specificpractices in compiling and disseminating public sector debt statistics (PSDS). 2.The mission was undertaken under the auspices of a two-year project to strengthen thequality of public sector debt statistics in selected African countries.The project is funded by theGovernment of Japan through the Japan Administered Account for Selected IMF Activities (JSA). TheIMF mission team extends its appreciation to the authorities for the warm reception and candiddiscussions throughout the mission and to Mr. Hiroyasu Tonokawa (Resident Representative, JapanInternational Cooperation Agency) and his staff, who also met with the mission, and shared theirinsights.
