G (goat) has been changed to small ruminant (goat, sheep).•Variable to indicate if contact tracing (ContactTracing) was performed has been added.•Variable to indicate activity related to exposure (ExposureActivity) and other exposure activitynot listed (ExposureActivityOther) have been added.•Variable to specify product of likely exposure during consumption of raw or unpasteurisedanimal product (ExposureRawAnimalProduct) has been added.•Variable to indicate if influenza A was detected in the animals, environment or animalproducts the case had exposure to (ExposureInfluenzaA) and the virus subtype detected(ExposureHAsubtype, ExposureNAsubtype) have been added.•Variable ExposureSettingDetails has been removed and replaced by a variable to indicatelikely setting of exposure to zoonotic influenza virus (ExposureSetting) and other exposuresetting not listed (ExposureSettingOther).•Variable for use of personal protective equipment (PPEused) and type of personal protectiveequipment used (PPE) have been added.•The coded value list of variable Setting has been updated to include T (Contact tracing). C(Community) has been changed to ‘Community and primary care’ and I (Investigation ofoutbreak) has been changed to ‘Investigation of outbreak in animals’.•The coded value list of variable Occupation has been updated to include wildlife worker underRIN (Bird ringer or wildlife worker)•Variable for suspected main mode of transmission (Transmission) has been added. Description for variables Outcome, DrugUsedProphylaxis andDrugUsedTreatment updated tospecify how to report variables for symptomatic and asymptomatic cases. 15/01/2025: Formatting and structure of report
