Kearney is the firstmanagement consultancy in the world to have itsnear- and long-term science-based emissionsreduction targets approved by the Science BasedTargets initiative (SBTi), after having been the firstcarbon neutral consultancy in 2010. We remaincommitted to absolute reductions of scope 1 and 2GHG emissions by 50 percent and scope 3 emissionsby 30 percent by 2030, and to achieving net-zeroGHG emissions across our value chain by 2050.Given our double-digit annual growth trajectory, thismeans aggressively reducing our emissions per FTEby more than half—living up to our ambitious visionto lead in sustainability. At Kearney, our success is driven by our passion forovercoming major challenges. This year, our worldwas confronted with some of its gravest challengesin recent memory. From natural disasters and marketvolatility to the devastating effects of conflict andfamine, the crises we faced were unprecedentedin their scale and complexity. In the spirit of ourfounder, Tom Kearney, and his principle of “essentialrightness,” we believe it is Kearney’s duty to counterthese forces and drive positive impact. For us, this means embedding sustainability in allthat we do as a business. It also means vocallysupporting international best practices such as theUN Sustainable Development Goals, UN GlobalCompact, and CDP, a nonprofit environmentalreporting and risk management organization. In 2023,we significantly advanced these commitments, andengaged our clients, our people, our planet, and ourcommunities as we did so. We are driving progress toward these ambitioustargets on several fronts. In 2024, we will launch anInternal Carbon Pricing program targeting air travel,our largest source of emissions as consultants. Withgreater transparency and accountability, we aim todrive behavioral change and greener travel. Thecollected fees will be used to invest in high-qualitycarbon credits, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), andother green initiatives. We also are working to becomeplastic free and harness renewable energy across allour locations and operations globally. Building on our strengths in transformation andstrategic operations, we always strive to make ourclients’ bold sustainability ambitions a reality. Thisyear, we worked with a diverse group of organizationson more than 300 sustainability-related engagementsranging from decarbonization to sustainable supplychains and circularity. We are also proud to haveacquired Silicon Foundry, a venture capital advisoryfirm committed to sustainable innovation, and TEAMSDesign, a global strategic design company focusedon sustainable solutions. We are committed to continuous improvementand strive for transparency in demonstrating ourcontributions toward a sustainable future. We areproud to have received a Platinum rating fromEcoVadis, placing us among the top 1 percent ofmore than 100,000 companies evaluated across theglobe. Kearney also joined the CDP Climate ChangeA List for our leadership in corporate transparencyand environmental performance. The success of these initiatives—and our businessperformance—begins with our people. Our holisticapproach to people care and development is focusedon building a collective sense of ownership andfostering a workplace culture driven by joy andjustice. In 2023, we introduced the enAble diversitynetwork focused on disability awareness, and theGlobal Inclusion Council, which guides and amplifiesthe firm’s DEI progress at the highest levels. We alsoadded 40 new ambassadors for a total of 170colleagues trained globally in Mental Health First Aid.Due in large part to these efforts, we were named oneof America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity byNewsweek and achieved Platinum certification fromMental Health America’s 2023 Bell Seal for WorkplaceMental Health.
