Infosys has been managing its business processes for over 20 years, with a focus on financial, human resources, and delivery departments. The company has a complex operational structure and is subject to strict data security requirements due to the large scale of its IT consulting and digital transformation projects. Infosys handles a significant amount of data, including over 600,000 invoices, over 700,000 supplier payments, nearly 250,000 wage slips, over 40,000 client projects, 650,000 employee claims, and approximately 6,000 tax compliance matters. The company has 94 subsidiaries and serves clients in 46 countries, with 249,000 employees and millions of square feet of real estate. This requires a wide and reliable technology backbone that can provide next-generation user experiences (UX) supported by intelligent analytics and mobilized by leading digital platforms such as SAP S/4HANA. SAP is Infosys' core enterprise platform and forms the backbone of its key business areas, including financials, human capital management (HCM), payment procurement (P2P), planning and budgeting, and data warehousing. Infosys' SAP digital transformation journey is planned every 2-3 years and involves migrating from the Infosys ERP system, which was based on multiple non-SAP and custom-developed .NET applications, to the SAP S/4HANA platform. The migration involved using various technologies to connect with these applications, such as SAP ALE, OData API endpoints, web services, remote function calls, and IDOCs. The company also had to interface with over 25 financial applications and more than 25 HCM applications, among others.
