Hospitals are facing shortages of nurses, with nearly a third of surveyed nurses reporting an intent to leave their current jobs. Despite efforts to improve the experience of nurses, the trend of anticipated turnover has persisted for two years. However, some of the practices implemented by healthcare organizations may be bearing fruit. The latest data from a September 2022 survey of 368 frontline nurses provides insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the nursing workforce. These insights can be used by organizations to attract, support, and retain a vibrant workforce and promote long-term workforce stability.
