The Executive Board also approved a six-month extension of the ECF and RSFarrangements and an augmentation of access under the ECF arrangement of SDR 12.44million (20 percent of quota). Economic activity remains robust, with GDP growth estimated at 6 percent in 2025, whileinflation has picked up in recent months. The impact of the war in the Middle East is weighingon the macroeconomic outlook and heightening domestic risks. Growth is projected to slow to4.7 percent in 2026 before stabilizing at 5 percent over the medium term. Despite the challenging environment, the authorities are committed to the objectives set out inthe ECF and RSF arrangements. In response to end-2025 fiscal slippages, fiscal policy will betightened, including through stepped-up revenue mobilization, and the central bank remainsvigilant to contain inflation and safeguard external stability. Comprehensive capacity development support is strengthening economic reforms, including inrevenue administration, public financial management, SOE oversight and data reporting, aswell as steps to enhance climate resilience and sustainable and inclusive growth. Washington, DC–July 6, 2026:The Executive Board completed today the 2026 Article IVConsultation for The Gambia1and the fifth review of The Gambia’s Extended Credit Facility(ECF) arrangement, approved on January 12, 2024,to support reforms to address long-standing structural impediments to inclusive growth. The completion of the ECF review allowsfor the immediate disbursement of SDR6.22 million (about US$8.44 million), bringing totaldisbursements under this arrangement to SDR55.97 million (about US$75.98 million).
