China Textile Information CenterGs1 China Introduction I China Textile Information Center China Textile Information Center (hereinafter referred to as "cTIc") is an authoritative informationconsulting, research and service organization and also the largest comprehensive research andpublic service agency of China's textile industry under the sponsorship of the State-owned AssetsSupervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council and the mandate ofChina National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC).Now, China Textile Information Center (CTIC)and China Textiles Development Center (CTDC) work together as one organization, and CNTACTesting Center, Social Responsibility Office of CNTAC, China National Textile and Apparel IndustryProductivity Center, the Secretariat of China Textile Engineering Society and the Secretariat ofChina Fashion Color Association are all affiliated to CTIC. The Office for Social Responsibility of China National Textile and Apparel Council was establishedin May 2oo5. it is the executive body of the Social Responsibility Construction Association(RScA)of CNTAC and the first national permanent social responsibility organization in China. It establishesa public platform for industrial social responsibility, provides professional social responsibilityservices, and assists member enterprises and stakeholders to achieve social responsibility goalsand achieve the vision of "improving enterprise competitiveness, building a harmonious societyand guiding the sustainable development of the industry" The "30 · 60 Carbon Neutrality Acceleration Plan for Climate Innovation of Chinese Fashion Brands"was launched on June 1, 2021. As of May 2025, 23 brands and 42 manufacturing companies havejoined this initiative. In December 2020, CNTAC established the Life Cycle Assessment WorkingGroup for the Textile and Apparel Industry, which now includes 58 member organizations, including47 enterprises and 11 academic institutions, and industry alliances. It covers the entire supply chainfrom fiber materials and textile chemicals to spinning, weaving, printing/dyeing, and garmentproduction, as well as brands and consumption. In April 2024, CNTAC facilitated the establishmentof a Working Group on Digital Product Passports for Textile Products, aiming to enhance textileenterprises'ability to comply with market access regulations related to DPP. It explores practicalapproaches across key areas, including policy analysis, standard development, and system design.CNTAC is collaborating with leading manufacturers and innovation institutions across the valuechain to establish textile industry-wide digital product passport standards. At the same time, it isdeveloping a textiles DPP system based on privacy-preserving computing and blockchaintechnologies. This system supports secure and transparent data sharing among multiplestakeholders within a trusted and controllable environment. In the future, this will form an industry-level trusted data space to support circular economy practices, environmental footprint manage-ment, and cross-border supply chain collaboration in the textile sector. GS1 China, also known as for Article Numbering Center of China (ANCC), founded in 1988 undertheauthorizationoftheStateCouncilofthePeople'sRepublicofChinaasanaffiliateofGeneralAdministration of State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), is in charge of organizing,coordinating and administrating article numbering and Auto-ldentification work throughout China.GS1 China has been dedicated to promoting the GS1 System, the globally-adopted, open andcross-industry standard for supply chain management, since it joined Gs1 as a Member Organizationon behalf of China in April 1991.Serving as both an "iD card" and "International Passport" ofproducts, GTIN is widely used in quality control, retail checkout, store distribution, supply chainmanagement, and data analytic-forming a cornerstone of global trade. As Gs1's sole authorizedinstitution in China, GS1 China has built a nationwide network with 47 branches, developingintegrated capabilities in identification management, R&D, standardization, application solutionand services. As of now, it has provided barcode services to over one million enterprises, withbillions of products utilizing GTINs. GS1 China fulfills GS1 membership responsibilities by promotingthe global identification, establishes national standards and technical specifications, and advancesthe deep integration of Automatic ldentification and Data Acquisition (AIDC) technologies (includingbarcodes, QR codes, RFID, etc.) across retail, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, producttraceability, and more sectors. passports, aiming to enhance the efficiency of product lifecycle management.
