Thesesurveys also provide an assessment of how EU citizens andhouseholds derive benefits from innovations in their digitalenvironmentand the evolution of telecommunicationmarkets towards the new connectivity targets for 2030established in the Digital Policy Program1. This Special Eurobarometer builds on previous surveys – inparticular Special Eurobarometer 510 published in June20212, and Special Eurobarometer 530 published in May20233– to provide insights into the attitudes and behaviourofEuropeans regarding international communicationswithin the EU. This survey was commissioned by theEuropeanCommission,Directorate-GeneralforCommunications Networks, Content and Technology (DGCNECT). Themethodology used was that of the StandardEurobarometersurveys carried out by the Directorate-Generalfor Communication(‘Public Opinion&CitizensEngagement’ Unit)4.
