Message FromChair of ACE Governing Council Message FromExecutive Director On behalf of the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), I am pleased to present the ACE Annual Report 2024. The year 2024 marks as an important chapter for ASEAN in the journey towards greater goal in theASEAN energy landscape. The year of2024 has been filled with dynamic challenges and significant progress across ASEAN’senergylandscape.First and foremost,I would like to express my sincere gratitude and highestappreciation to all ASEAN Member States (AMS), the Senior Officials on Energy (SOE) Leaders ofASEAN, Specialised Energy Bodies (SEBs) & Sub-sector Networks (SSNs), and the respective FocalPoints of ASEAN Member States for the unwavering support and invaluable contributions. Under Lao PDR ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024, with the theme of"Enhancing Connectivity andResilience", we recognise that the region has presented its commitment and efforts in the ASEANenergy sector, strengthening cross-border collaboration, promoting sustainable energy development,and advancing regional resilience. It has been a great privilege to witness the impactful work led byLao PDR and the ASEAN Centre for Energy, which has enabled significant strides in regionalcooperation and energy integration throughout 2024. With the mandate by AMS granted to us, ACE will continue to serve as a high-performing institution whichbuilds a coherent, coordinated, focused and robust energy policy agenda and strategy for ASEAN and tofulfil three (3) critical roles: This year, it is my honour to serve as the ACE Governing Council Chair as Malaysia assumes theASEAN Chairmanship in 2025. Aligned with our theme of “Inclusivity and Sustainability”, we reaffirmourcommitment to strengthening regional energy connectivity,accelerating the clean energytransition, and deepening collaboration across public and private sectors.
