The International Energy Agency (IEA), founded in 1974, is anautonomous body within the framework of the OrganizationforEconomic Cooperation and Development(OECD).TheTechnology Collaboration Programme (TCP) was created witha belief that the future of energy security and sustainabilitystarts with global collaboration. The programme is made upof thousands of experts across government, academia, andindustry dedicated to advancing common research and theapplication of specific energy technologies. ‘Tasks,’ that may be research projects or activity areas. Thisreport has been prepared under Task 1, which deals with marketandindustry analysis, strategic research and facilitates theexchange and dissemination of information arising from the overallIEA PVPS Programme. The IEA PVPS participating countries in 2025 areAustralia,Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France,Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Morocco, theNetherlands,Norway,Portugal,South Africa,Spain,Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Türkiye, the United Kingdomand theUSA. The European Commission, Solar Power Europe, theSolar Energy Research Institute ofSingaporeare also members. The IEA Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme (IEA PVPS)is one of the TCP’s within the IEA and was established in 1993.The mission of the programme is to “enhance the internationalcollaborative efforts which facilitate the role of photovoltaic solarenergy as a cornerstone in the transition to sustainable energysystems.” In order to achieve this, the Programme’s participantshave undertaken a variety of joint research projects in PV powersystems applications. The overall programme is headed by anExecutive Committee, comprised of one delegate from eachcountry or organisation member, which designates distinct Visit us at: www.iea-pvps.org AUTHORS Main Authors:Gaëtan Masson (Becquerel Institute), Melodie de l’Epine (Becquerel Institute France), Izumi Kaizuka, JunkoOkazaki (RTS Corporation).BIPV Authors: Francesco Frontini, Pierluigi Bonomo (SUPSI), Jose M Vega De Seoane, Juan Ignacio Martinez (BecquerelInstitute Espana).Analysis: Adrien Van Rechem (Becquerel Institute), Becquerel Institute teamData: IEA PVPS Reporting Countries, Becquerel Institute (BE), RTS Corporation (JP). TheTrends report’s objective is to present and interpretdevelopmentsin the PV power systems market and theevolving applications for these products within this market. These trends are analysed in the context of the business, policyand nontechnical environment in the reporting countries. system prices varies, depending on the willingness of the relevantnational PV industry to provide data. This report presents theresults of the 30th international survey. It provides an overviewof PV power systems applications, markets and production in thereporting countries and elsewhere at the end of 2024 and analysestrends in the implementation of PV power systems between 1992and 2024. Key data for this publication were drawn mostly fromnational survey reports and information summaries, which weresupplied by representatives from each of the reporting countries.Information from the countries outside IEA PVPS are drawn from avariety of sources and, while every attempt is made to ensure theiraccuracy, the validity of some of these data cannot be assured withthe same level of confidence as for IEA PVPS member countries. This report is prepared to assist those who are responsible fordeveloping the strategies of businesses and public authorities, andto support the development of medium-term plans for electricityutilities and other providers of energy services. It also providesguidance to government officials responsible for setting energypolicy and preparing national energy plans. The scope of thereport is limited to PV applications with a rated power of 40 Wor more. National data supplied are as accurate as possible atthe time of publication. Data accur
