We are particularly grateful to the ACAI Governing Boardmembers,the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) Secretariat, and representatives from the WorldHealthOrganization,United Nations(UN)agencies,academicinstitutions, civil society organisations, anddevelopment partnersfor their strategic insights and unwavering commitment to advancing active ageing in the region. Our appreciation alsogoes to the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia for their invaluablecollaboration in co-organising this pivotal event. The active participation of key stakeholders, includingJapan’s National Institute ofPopulation and Social Security Research, the Japan International Cooperation Agency,Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund, Asian Development Bank, United Nations PopulationFund, Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program, National Universityof Singapore, Thai academic institutions such as Mahidol University, ChulalongkornUniversity, ThammasatUniversity, and private sector leaders, demonstrates thecollective resolve to transform ageing policies into actionable solutions. Their expertiseand feedback have been instrumental in shaping ACAI’s 5-Year Strategic Plan (2025–2029), ensuring it aligns with ASEAN’s priorities and global frameworks like the UNDecade of Healthy Ageing. I also wish to acknowledge the dedication of the ACAI team for their meticulousplanning. This meeting marks a critical milestone in our journey, and we look forwardto sustaining this momentum through collaborative implementation. Together, we are building a future where older persons in ASEAN thrive with dignity,opportunity, and resilience.
