Thefeature highlights the highest efficiency commercial solarmodules across all mainstream technologies from leadingintegrated manufacturers with their own cell production(see Chapter 2). relative shares changed over time. This includes graphicalsummaries of individual company progress and broaderband-level dynamics. Chapter 5 explores technology-specific efficiencydevelopments. BC remains the top performer and showedthe highest improvement over the period with a 1.6%absolute gain, led by AIKO, LONGi, and Maxeon. HJT,driven largely by Huasun, improved its peak efficiencyby nearly 1% absolute. TOPCon, meanwhile, showedmore frequent, incremental gains, with several companiespushing beyond 22.5%, with JA Solar emerging as thecurrent leader at 23.2%, followed by steady improvementsfrom Trinasolar, Astronergy, and DMEGC Solar. In contrast,PERC technology showed no improvement in peakefficiency and saw several modules delisted, reflecting itsgradual phaseout. As with previous editions, this report examines efficiencydata over the past months; 30 in this case – fromJanuary 2023 till June 2025. Efficiency remains the centralmetric, evaluated through product rankings, performanceby technology, developments across efficiency bands, andcompany-specific trends. The number of listed products grew from 34 in early 2023to 51 by mid-2025, with participating suppliers increasingfrom 23 to 33. However, the product count has recentlydeclined as manufacturers discontinue low-efficiencymodules, particularly those based on PERC technology(see Chapter 3.1). The best commercial moduleefficiencies saw a notable rise – from 22.8% in early 2023to 24.4% in June 2025 – an absolute improvement of1.4%. AIKO maintained its lead throughout, repeatedlysetting new records with its BC modules. By June 2025,the top 3 efficiency rankings were fully dominated by BCproducts from AIKO, Maxeon, and LONGi, with Huasun’sHJT module at 23.5% occupying 4thplace (see Chapter3.2). As of mid-2025, BC modules lead the pack with24.4% efficiency. HJT follows at 23.5%, TOPCon hasreached 23.2%, and PERC remains at 21.7%. The periodsaw TOPCon become the 3rdtechnology to surpass the23% mark, confirming its expanding role in high-efficiencycommercial modules (see Chapter 3.3). In addition to efficiency, the report evaluates module powerratings, grouped into 3 classes: below 500 W, 500–600W, and above 600 W. High-power modules dominatedthe listing and surpassed the 50% mark by mid-2025 (seeChapter 6.1). The highest rated module power increasedfrom 700 W in January 2023 to 730 W in June 2025, led byHuasun’s HJT module. It was followed by Tongwei Solarand Trinasolar at 715 W, with Grand Sunergy and JetionSolar offering 710 W modules. PERC reached 675 W,represented by Canadian Solar, while AIKO’s BC moduleachieved 660 W by mid-2025 (see Chapter 6.2). Chapter 7 compiles a company-wise summary of all listedmodules, presenting their respective efficiency and powerstandings at a glance. Finally, the Badge of Excellence feature, introduced in2023, returns to recognize companies that appearedin the Top 10 for at least 6 months in a calendar year –highlighting those that consistently demonstrate leadershipin solar innovation (see page 8 for details). To better illustrate the efficiency evolution, modules aregrouped into 4 bands: above 22.5%, 22% to 22.5%,21.7% to 22%, and 21.5% to 21.7%. Chapter 4 trackshow companies moved within these bands and how their Enjoy reading our report on TOP SOLAR MODULES H1-2025. Shravan K.
