Passenger Transport(i)Aviation Service Operator (airlinesand ground crew services)(ii)Vehicle & Rail Operator (rail, bus,mini-bus, taxi)(iii)Vessel Transport Operator (cruise,cross-boundary ferry, local ferry) 3Two focus group meetings were conductedon 7 and 9 January 2025.All members areexperienced and knowledgeablepractitioners of the T&L industry.Amoderator led members to in-depthdiscussion on topics selected by the WorkingParty on Manpower Survey of TLTB.Thediscussions at the meeting were recordedand transcribed to facilitate analysis.Desk ResearchRecruitment records covering the periodbetween February 2024 and January 2025were collected through an employmentinformation system specially developed tocapture the relevant data from major onlinerecruitment portals.Some 16,000recruitment records relevant to the T&Lindustry were collected during the researchperiod and served as indicative informationof the job market trend.The list of relatedcompanies under the Hong Kong StandardIndustrial Classification (HKSIC) wasmapped to remove duplicated records. LimitationsAs this is not a full manpower survey, thefindings and recommendations of the focusgroup meetings are more qualitative innature, and the report focuses mainly onmanpower trends.The information on jobadvertisements was collected from majorrecruitment websites and the LabourDepartment.Other channels, such ashead-hunting for managerial positions, werenot covered.Since the data collected is asnapshot of a particular period withoutreference to any historical data, this canserve as reference informationsupplementary to the findings of focus groupmeetings.Factors Affecting the Development of the IndustryThe pandemic caused significant disruptions, especially in cross-border passenger transport.The industry is gradually recovering, but challenges remain,
