Overall,China’s national economy has maintained stability with steady progress. The country hassteadily cultivated new quality productive forces and continuously deepened its reform andopening-up. Solid advancements have been made in Chinese modernization, which hascontributed to a trend of steady development in the exhibition industry. As an integral part of the modern industrial system, the exhibition industry serves as avital platform for fostering higher-standard opening up, advancing Chinese modernizationcomprehensively, and promoting high-quality economic development. In 2024, new qualityproductive forces have emerged as a key driver for the high-quality development of China’sexhibition industry. Local governments at all levels view the exhibition sector as an importantlever for economic growth. Foreign-invested enterprises have maintained confidence in theChinese market, and major international expositions like the China International Import Expo(CIIE) and the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) have served as importantplatforms for advancing China’s high-standard opening up. Businesses have intensified theirefforts and increased the frequency of participating in and organizing exhibitions abroad,making significant contributions to stabilizing foreign trade and optimizing its structure. Since 2005, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) hasreleased theAnnual Report on China’s Exhibition Industry, analyzing the annual trends andcharacteristics of the exhibition industry. The report has garnered wide recognition bothdomestically and internationally, offering valuable references and guidance for the industry.Under the commission of the Department of Exhibition Management of the CCPIT (Office ofInternational Exhibitions Bureau and World Expo Affairs), the CCPIT Academy has produced theAnnual Report on China’s Exhibition Industry 2024. The report studies economic and tradeexhibitions held in professional venues with an area of more than 2,000 square meters1. The dataprimarily comes from the local trade promotion councils and the China International ExhibitionCenter’s (CIEC) exhibition database. For overseas exhibitions, the report covers projects approvedby the CCPIT and have been actually executed, with data derived from the CCPIT’s OverseasExhibition Approval Management System. Through in-depth research, data analysis, policyresearch, and expert discussions, we have thoroughly examined the development environment,general characteristics, domestic and overseas exhibition developments, and exhibition venuemarkets of China’s exhibition industry in 2024.
