Information used in the Report is primarilyderivedfrom available sources such as FAO statistical yearbooks,economies’ reports,information from energy data systems, documents from domestic and international workshops,and results from scientific research published in journals. Additional information was collectedthrough electronic surveys /questionnaireswith APEC member economies,particularly fromthe Workshop on Biomass Energy Promotion for Inclusive and Sustainable AgricultureDevelopment in APEC Region was organized in hybrid manner in Ha Noi, Viet Nam from 18–20 September 2024. The Report aims to share information and raise awareness among relevant stakeholders such aspolicy makers, scientific researchers, businesses, and rural communities in the APEC regionabout the development of biomass energy from agricultural wastes. The Report is the outcome of the Project within the Agriculture Technical Cooperation WorkingGroup | APEC (ATCWG), titled Promoting APEC Cooperation for Sustainable Biomass Energyfrom AgricultureWastes(ATC 02 2023A),which was conducted by the InternationalCooperation Department (ICD) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD)of Viet Nam, in collaboration with the Science Institute of Rural Development (SIRD). On behalf of the Project Overseer, I sincerely thank the member economies for their support inproviding information so that the Report can provide a comprehensive overview of the currentutilization of agricultural wastes for biomass energy production inthe region, and therebyproposed appropriate solutions to promote APEC cooperation in this area.
