ZentralZentral5.814.3 The macroeconomic environment during the sixmonths ended 30 September 2024 (the “ReportingPeriod”) presented a complex landscape influencedby several ongoing challenges such as furtherslowdown in economic growth, changes in theeconomic structure and uncertainties in interestrates. The real estate sector, a significant pillar ofChina’s economy, continued to undergo a period ofa d j u s t m e n t s . C o n s e q u e n t l y , t h e p r o p e r t ymanagement sector in China, which is positivelycorrelated to the real estate sector in China, faced achallenging environment during the ReportingPeriod, experiencing a decrease in the number ofnew contracts and an increase in operational costs.Fortunately, the Group’s strategic decision todiscontinue its lifestyle entertainment business (the“Discontinued Operation”) has proved to beforward-looking and favorably impacted the Group’soverall financial performance. The club operatedunder the brand name “Zentral” had closed down asthe tenancy agreement for the leased premises onwhich “Zentral” was operated expired on 30 June2024, marking the cessation of the Group’s lifestyleentertainment business. As such, the Group recordeda significant decrease in the reportable segment lossduring the Reporting Period, compared to thatrecorded for the corresponding prior period,resulted in a commendable increase in net profits byH K $ 5 . 8 m i l l i o n a n d r e c o r d e d a n u n a u d i t e dconsolidated profit of HK$14.3 million during theReporting Period.
