The analysis was based on data from OAG for January 2019 and 2024, and BCD transactional data for the first nine months of 2023. The outlook for airfares relies on forecasts from IATA, which produces its figures using a US dollar-based index. The situation in Africa is complex, with each market needing to be considered on its own merits. The recovery in airline capacity in Algeria has been fairly balanced, with seats 2-3% above their 2019 level. Some international markets have exceeded these figures, while others have not.
