It adopted a three-pronged approach that centredaround market development, deepening reforms, and strategicdevelopment. It held fast to the principle of overseas expansion,conducted extensive investigation and research, and vigorouslyimplemented the “Railway+” strategy. It actively expanded itsmarkets, strictly monitored safety management, implementedcontracting system reforms, tapped into potential and enhancedefficiency, and actively promoted project construction. As such,a generally stable level of rail freight transportation volume wasmaintained despite difficult market conditions, with which weachieved relatively stable operating results. 2023+ Market Condition The year of 2023 was a challenging year for the Group. Railwayoperation was negatively affected by the severe economic downturnofcertain industries both at home and abroad in the post-pandemic era, and by a diminishing demand for coal as a resultof a cyclical fluctuation of market demand for conventional energysources. The management of the Company adhered to a market-oriented approach that centred on three main principles of marketdevelopment, deepening reforms and strategic development. Itheld fast to the principle of overseas expansion, maintained a closeconnection with upstream and downstream customers, vigorouslyimplemented the “Railway+” strategy, by which it expanded newmarkets, tapped into potential and enhanced efficiency, and activelypromoted project construction, thereby maintaining a generallystable level of transportation volume despite difficult marketconditions.
