In Q4 2022, worldwide app downloads decreased by 0.1% to 35.5 billion. App Store downloads grew by 2.4% to 8.1 billion, while Google Play installs declined by 0.9% to 27.5 billion. Stumble Guys was the top mobile game and top app by download growth globally. Instagram became the top app by worldwide downloads in Q4 2022. The Utilities category on the App Store has consistently shown growth each quarter since Q1 2020. The Tools category on Google Play was the third fastest growing category on Google Play in Q4 2022. These findings are based on Sensor Tower's Store Intelligence platform and reflect download estimates for October 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.
