In the Year, the Company had made active responses to theeconomic blow brought by the COVID-19 pandemic and strivedto reduce the impact of COVID-19 on the Group’s operations.International political tensions have resulted in the continuationof high raw material prices and hence an increase in operatingcosts. In addition, the rate hike cycle has deteriorated the businessenvironment in the global economy where the construction industryhad borne the brunt. Confronted with the complex and ever-changing business environment, the Group had strived in unitywith our professional E&M project management capabilities tocontrol project costs and reach completion for a number of large-scale E&M projects within the Year. At the same time, we have alsoactively looked for expansion opportunities. During the Year, theGroup participated in a number of E&M projects for commercialbuildings and air-conditioning system improvement projects for oldcommercial buildings, striving to expand our diversified businessand consolidate our position in the industry. As for E&M engineering, the Group has been striving to strengthencost control, improve quality management and actively expand itsbusiness. We have continued to obtain a number of large-scaleE&M projects during the Year, including several large-scale electricaland mechanical installation projects. In addition, the Group hasalso entered into the commercial building market for E&M projects,laying the foundation for the expansion of the Group’s businessdevelopment into new areas. The Group’s outstanding contractamount remained at around HK$1 billion, which shows that ourcustomers’ recognition of our ability of project management. Wewill continue to maintain our business development and enhanceour ability to acquire new projects to lay a solid foundation for ourbusiness development. In addition, the Group is also actively developing diversifiedbusinesses, in order to change the quality of human life by usingtechnology and make contribution to social, environmental andgovernance aspects. During the Year, the Group is also involved inscientific research by providing support to universities to developtechnological applications. Donations were made to several localuniversities to set up joint laboratories for the active promotion ofinnovation and technology. The Group will continue to invest inenergy-saving and environmental-friendly electrical and mechanicalsystems, and expects to create more business opportunities in theconstruction of energy-saving and environmental-friendly energyand smart cities while building a better life for mankind.
