This IMF Working Paper examines gender, human resources, and central banking. It creates a multidimensional survey of eight central banks in advanced economies, including the G7 national central banks and the European Central Bank, to cover various aspects of gender such as women's participation, employment trends, and human resources practices. The study uses this data to create a new comprehensive index of gender equality, the Human Resources Gender Index (HRGI). The paper concludes that these central banks have room for improvement in terms of women's inclusion.
