Asia consolidated its status as theworld’s second-largest ultra wealth region: theUHNW population grew by 15.8% to 141,890individuals, lifting the region’s share of theglobal ultra wealthy class to 25%. The world’s richest individuals continued toexperience dynamic wealth gains in 2025.The global UHNW population expandedby 14.4% to a new all-time high of 556,850individuals in 2025. This marked a secondconsecutive double-digit expansion andthe strongest annual growth since 2017.Total wealth of the UHNW class surgedto $63.8tn in 2025, more than double theannual GDP of the US economy. The size and wealth of the ultra wealthyclass have swelled rapidly over the pasttwo decades.Since 2004, the UHNWpopulation has grown by a cumulative255%, outpacing the expansion of theglobal adult population by a factor of seven.There were just under 51 million millionairesglobally in 2025; the ultra wealthy representa small 1.1% of this millionaire population,yet their cumulative share of wealth is afar larger 32%. A key growth segment hasbeen that of the ‘centi-millionaires’, thosewith a net worth in excess of $100m, drivenprimarily by the technology boom. Therewere more than 117,000 centi-millionaires in2025, almost double the number of 60,000in 2015. The US is by far the largest wealth market inthe world, home to 37% of the total UHNWpopulation, more than the combined shareof all the other countries in the top 10.USultra wealthy numbers rose by 15% in 2025 to206,880, outpacing growth in second-rankedChina. All the leading UHNW markets increasedtheir respective wealthy populations, with HongKong and Japan standout performers. New Yorkremains the premier UHNW city, home to almost24,000 UHNW individuals; while Seoul surgedup the rankings to make it into the top 12 cities,with the number of UHNW individuals rising bymore than a third to 6,220. Regional distinctions matter when engagingwith this hugely influential cohort.Asia exhibitsa somewhat younger UHNW demographic,and North America the oldest. Female UHNWrepresentation is rising gradually (set to reach19% by 2040) and is highest in Asia, albeit at astill low 13%. The ‘self-made’ wealthy are mostprevalent in North America, where philanthropyranks almost as highly as sport as a favoredinterest. Financial services is the predominantindustry focus in all three major regions,followed by business and consumer services.Representation of Europe’s UHNW populationin the fifth-ranked technology sector is lowerthan that of both regional peers, while it ishigher in hospitality and entertainment. By 2030, we forecast a global UHNWpopulation of 746,570 individuals, asubstantial increase of 190,000 from its2025 level.The group’s combined net worthis set to swell by a third, rising to $85tn.
