Promoting Uptake of the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) (Circular No.2/2026,dated10 June2026) 1.To better supportapplicantsinusingthePatent Prosecution Highway (PPH),the IntellectualProperty Office of Singapore (IPOS)will be introducingtwonewinitiatives: (i)AcceleratedFirst AcceleratedFirst Office Actiontimelines 2.IPOS will endeavour to issue the first office action within 6 months from the date of the requestto use PPH.This is applicable for a requesttouse PPH filed on or after1 July2026. Simplified paymentprocesswhen PPH is requested 3.From 3 August 2026 to 31 December 2027 (both dates inclusive), applicants filing a PPH requesttogether with a new request for a search and/or examination reportneed only pay 70% of the prevailing official fees1forthe latter. Under thecurrentarrangement(announcedinCircular No.4 of 2025),applicantspay the full feesat the point of request, and receive30%of the feesbackthereafter. Theupdated approachprovidesthe same benefitupfrontandsimplifiestheprocess, 1Fora Request for a Search and Examination Report under Form PF11, the prevailing official fee is S$2,050.
