November 2023 PREFACE Welcome to the Solomon Islands National Essential Medicines List. This list is a compilationof all the medicines available inthe SolomonIslandsforthe year2023.It hasbeenupdatedand collated for current use, representing all medicines available within the public healthsystem of the Solomon Islands. The Essential Medicines List (EML) is subject to constant review by the National Medicine&TherapeuticsCommittee(NMTC).AnyHealthWorkercanmakesubmissionstotheNMTCSolomon Islands Medicines Information Centre (MiC). The MiC is contactable by phone on24697. The Secretary of the NMTC is contactable, c/o the Chief Pharmacist, NationalPharmacy Services Division. In these days of constant medical advancement, the EML is likely to regularly change andfor this reason, you will be sent an updated copy each year. If you fail to receive yours, orwould like another copy, please contact the MiC or your local provincial hospital. We hope you find this resource useful and user friendly. It is intended to greatly improveinformation only and should not be taken as an endorsement of any drug for a particularusage. Adverse drug reactions maybe different depending on the patient, so all reactions reported will help build our understanding ofthe side effects of drugs, especially side effects specific to Solomon Islanders. The Medicines Information Centre monitors these adverse drug reactions to create a log of dataobtained from MIC.
