Upwards of 30,000internally displaced persons (IDPs) now live in the area as of February 2021. Many are concerned the lackof snow and rain in the winter months may lead to another major drought and subsequent famine thisyear. Escalating conflict is also affecting many of the provinces where the IDPs originate, deterring manyfrom returning home.
