With the “World Map ofExhibition Venues”, UFI regularly produces a global census of all exhibitionvenues with a minimum of 5,000 sqm of gross indoor exhibition space. Important remark: This version of the report includes significant updates forseveral key markets compared to the previous edition, eg. for Brazil, China,India and the United States. The results are considered reliable and have been thoroughly researched.However, they may in parts not be completely accurate or may beincomplete due to lack of data availability. Venue definition (for the purpose of this survey): any public assemblypremises with a minimum of 5,000 square meters (sqm) of indoor exhibitionspace that hold various types of exhibitions, trade fairs or consumer/publicshows on a regular basis. The premises may be purpose-built exhibitioncentre space or other premises including exhibition space (e.g. hotels,arenas, sport venues, and amusement fair grounds). If UFI and jwc consider that the reliability of the data is insufficient, theyreserve the right not to update it, and furthermore, data relating to membercountries that have been suspended or excluded from UFI activities arenot updated. For this edition this includes data from Iraq, Sudan, Syria,Ukraine and Yemen, and therefore the results shown should be assessedaccordingly. Exhibition Space definition: the amount of gross exhibition space in thevenue regularly marketed and rented/licensed/used for exhibitions, tradefairs or consumer/public shows. In any event, UFI and jwc cannot be held responsible for any errors orconsequences arising from the use of this information. “Top” in the context of this report is considered as the largest venues (or thecountries/regions with the most exhibition space) and bears no relation tothe quality of that space. The total indoor exhibition space worldwide reaches 44.3 million sqm for the end of the year 2024 and 1,530 venues were identified. The Asia-Pacific region remains at the top, providing the most exhibition space globally (16.9 million sqm). Europe remains in second placewith 16.1 million sqm of total indoor exhibition space. Regarding the number of venues, Europe remains home to the highest number of venues (520), followed by Asia-Pacific (449) and NorthAmerica (372) respectively. Venues and indoor exhibition space Main Results Indoor exhibition space: size segmentation Globally, 61% of the venues have an indoor capacity between 5,000 and 20,000 sqm. One third (34%) of all venues globally belong to themedium-size segment, offering between 20,000 and 100,000 sqm. 81 venues have more than 100,000 sqm. Main Results For the first time, Europe and Asia-Pacific share the top position in terms of number of large venues. The average size of Asia-Pacific venues is bigger than in any other region.
