We kindly ask your Member Association, in particular the media officer, totake note of the information therein and to coordinate the accreditation procedure in yourcountry/territory. We recommend that your association work closely with the relevant sportsjournalists’ association or professional organisation in an effort to ensure an equitabledistribution of the accreditation quota (for journalists and photographers) allocated to yourassociation.The allocation of accreditation passes to media organisations based in thehostcountries (Canada, Mexico and the United States) will be managed by FIFA in conjunctionwith the FIFA Member Associations that govern the game in the host countries. In the coming weeks, your association will be notified of its allocated quota and will receivefurther details regarding the media accreditation process. The quota will be based on previouseditions of the FIFA World Cup™and whether your association’s national team qualify forthisyear’s event. Additional quotas will be allocated to the associations that qualify for thetournament in the coming months. FIFA isreceiving many enquiries regarding the accreditation procedure andthe associatedtimelines.Giventheexpected demand, whichis set tosignificantly exceed supply, a transparent and fairmediaaccreditationprocess will be implemented. The media accreditationapplication windowfor the FIFA World Cup2026is expected to open in earlyJanuaryand willcloseon28February2026. In order to access and submit the online accreditationapplicationform, media representativesmust have: 1.an approvedFIFA Media Hubaccount;and 2.a unique accreditation control key issued by their FIFA Member Association,inaccordance with the instructions given below. FIFA Media Hub Having aFIFA Media Hub account isa prerequisiteto access both the media accreditation formand the media ticketing system. •Access is restricted to registered users withauserID and password.•Media representatives with an existing account may update their profile and apply directly.•New users can register viatheFIFA Media Hub registration page. NB:The accreditationcontrol keyisnotthe same as the login credentials for the FIFA Media Hub. Accreditationmanagement Accreditationfor written press and photographerswill be managedexclusively online. Onlymedia representatives with a valid Media Hub account and control key will be able toaccess andcomplete theFIFA World Cup2026accreditationform. Beingassignedanaccreditation control key does notmean that an accreditation request has beenapproved. FIFA reserves the right to review, validate and, if relevant, reject any media accreditationrequests. EachFIFAMemberAssociation will be allocated a quota of press and photographer accreditationpasses. Quotas willbe based onboththeFIFAMember Association’sparticipationin previouseditionsof the FIFA World Cup™anditsqualification status for the FIFA World Cup2026. FIFA will provideits Member Associations withdetailed instructions, includingin relation tothequotaallocation andthecontrol key distributionprocedure,in the near future. Distribution andallocation EachFIFA MemberAssociation is encouraged to work with itsnational sports journalists’associationortherelevantprofessionalorganisation in the country/territorywith a view toensuringanequitabledistribution ofthe allocated quota. TheFIFA MemberAssociation’s media department will be responsible for: •registering the allocation in theQuotaManagementSystem; and•distributing control keys to designated media organisations,freelance journalists andphotographers. The allocation ofaccreditationpassestomediaorganisations based in the hostcountries(Canada,Mexicoand the United States)will be managed by FIFA in conjunctionwith the FIFA MemberAssociations that govern the game in thehostcountries. FIFA willformally communicate, via the FIFA Media Hub, the applicable procedures for mediaorganisationsbasedin the three host countriesto submitaccreditation requests, along with thedesignated points of contact.
