A new wave of scientific and technologicalrevolution and industrial change is reshaping the global competitivelandscape, and innovation has become the core strategy forcountries to respond to international competition and driveeconomic transformation. China now stands at a new startingpoint as it plans for the 15th Five-Year Plan, following the blueprintset out at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC CentralCommittee. The session clearly outlines a dedicated strategyto “accelerate high-level sci-tech self-reliance and guide thedevelopment of new quality productive forces,” injecting strongmomentum into Chinese-style modernization. In doing so, China iscontributing confidence and strength to a turbulent global economythrough its unique development path. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the EY Entrepreneur OfThe Year (EOY) program in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong andMacau. For two decades, we have stayed aligned with nationaldevelopment priorities, building a platform for entrepreneurialexchange and collaboration. We have witnessed the thriving growthof China’s private economy and the ascent of Chinese entrepreneursto the forefront of global value chains. Many outstandingentrepreneurs, driven by innovation and a deep commitment tonational prosperity and social progress, have been recognized withthe EOY award. The theme of this year’s program is “Two decadesof unwavering strength; Forging ahead in the new era”. It paystribute to entrepreneurs who have maintained strategic focus amiduncertainty and led innovation during industrial transformation.Guided by purpose and propelled by innovation, they remain deeplycommitted to their core businesses, pursuing excellence, pushingboundaries and navigating change with resilience. This year’s awardwinners include leaders not only from traditional sectors such asmanufacturing but also from strategic emerging industries includingartificial intelligence, semiconductors, biotechnology and internetservices. Whether reinventing traditional fields or breaking newground in emerging ones, they embody the vitality and resilience ofChina’s private economy. It is worth noting that, when formulating the 15th Five-YearPlan, relevant national ministries consulted technology-focusedprivate entrepreneurs on innovation-related topics. This reflectsthe government’s emphasis on and support for the role ofprivate enterprises in developing emerging and future industriesand tackling key technological challenges. Furthermore, theimplementation of the Private Sector Promotion Law of the People’sRepublic of China in May this year has created a more stable andtransparent legal environment, enabling entrepreneurs to focus onoperations, development and in
