Within a short period of time references to products andservices for telecoms operators based on generative AI (GenAI) seemed to get airbrushed out and werereplaced by agentic AI and AI agents. To help with our CSP researchwe conducted a global survey ofAI decision-makers. We receivedmore than 100 responses from68 different operators. Forty ofthe respondents had overallresponsibility for theirorganizations’ AI strategies, whileothers sat within central AI teamsor had AI management roles withindifferent functions such as IT,network or lines of business. As such, it was an easydecision to base the updateon agentic AI. We wanted toknow what CSPs thought of thenew opportunities that itpresented and the extent to whichit was changing their thinkingabout the impact of AI, the usecases they were prioritizing, andthe challenges they would need toaddress to deploy it at scale. The survey questions were evenlydivided between themes thatrelated to CSPs’ overall AIstrategies and more specificquestions about the impact ofagentic AI.
