The Summit metobjectives, bringing together federal, local, regional andinternational government officials to exchange knowledgeand disseminate best practices by showcasing distinguishedexperiences and expertise.The Government Summit encompassed 30 dialoguesessions and workshops that brought together more than3,000 participants from the UAE, the Gulf CooperationCouncil (GCC) and other Arab countries, as wellas a number of international officials and over 150international experts.HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAEVice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; HH Lt.General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy PrimeMinister and Minister of Interior; and HH Sheikh Mansourbin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Ministerof Presidential Affairs, and Chairman of the MinisterialCouncil for Services, all took part in the Summit sessions.The Summit was held in the presence of HH SheikhHamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, CrownPrince of Dubai; HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammedbin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; HHSheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of ForeignAffairs; HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Social Development;HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President ofDubai Civil Aviation Authority and CEO and Chairmanof the Emirates Group; in addition to a number ofEmirati sheikhs, ministers and senior officials, guestsfrom Arab and foreign countries, and ministers and localgovernment departments.The Government Summit established a new modelof transparency at the regional level and set up aninnovative practice in direct communication with thepublic on national, social and development issues,where it received positive feedback on both nationaland regional levels, paving the way for an open nationaldialogue with senior leadership and also raised society’sexpectations of government performance.The First Government Summit also witnessed the launchof a series of specialized studies and reports, publishedand distributed in Arabic for the very first timein theregion and downloadablefrom the Government Summitwebsite, www.thegovernmentsummit.ae, aiming toimprove government performance, build confidencebetween government institutions and customers andincrease customer satisfaction.
