The event's agenda was inspiredby the directives of His Highness SheikhMohammedBin Rashid Al Maktoumduringthe First Government Summit,whichfocused on reviewing ways todevelopnew concepts for deliveringquality government services to matchHis Highness Sheikh Mohammed’s visionfor the future Government, that excelthe services across all the sectors – be ithospitality, banking services, work 24x7like aviation, to make the governmentsectorsas efficient as their privatecounterpartsand how the happinessof citizens could be enhanced throughtransformativegovernment services.The Government Summit aims to firmup the leading status of the UAE on boththe regional and international front. TheUAE government wants to reach out to itspeople before they approach it and deliverthem quality services through consistentand effective utilization of technology.The government seeks to transform thecountry into smart cities where customerswould be able to avail its services everytime. This will help people enjoy betterlives, which is exactly in line with the UAEVision 2021.The Government Summit, held for thesecondconsecutive year,reviewed anumber of international reports on thedevelopment of state services, examinedseveralworksheets and held series ofdiscussions. All were focused on how toexpand and spread knowledge to developnew concepts and practices that could helpmake government services even better.The'Museum of Future GovernmentServices'–an interactive gallery offuturistic designs – was also inauguratedonthesidelinesof the SecondGovernmentSummit.The museumexplored the future of the service sectorthatincluded travel,healthcare andeducation. It comprised more than 80international designers, technicians andfuture planners from nearly 20 countries.All of whom envisaged how the futuregovernments of the world can efficientlyutilizethe advanced technology toprovide better facilities and services totheircitizens.TheSummitconcludedwiththeBestM-Government Service Awards2014ceremony.His Highness SheikhMohammed honoured the winners fromgovernment bodies, federal bodies, localgovernments,UAE university studentsandArab and international bodies.This award aims to establish a leadingglobal model for innovation and adoptionofbest practices that may help inachievingtransformative and betterquality government services worldwide.Morethan 60 prominent speakers–including a number of leaders, decisionmakers,ministers,CEOs,thought andinnovation leaders, government officialsand experts – took part in the plenaryand interactive sessions. The event wasattended by more than 4,600 governmentdirectorsand representatives from allover the world.
