Keyconditionsandchallenges Asasmallopeneconomywithexportsaccountingforalmost60percentofGDP,Cambodiaisparticularlyexposedtotheongo-ingshiftsinglobaltradepoliciesandrisinguncertaintyintheexternalenvironment.TheUSisCambodia’slargestexportdes-tination,accountingfor39percentoftotalexportsand29per-centofGDP,nearlydoubletheshareofexportsgoingtoASEANat20percentandtheEU27at17percent,whileChinaaccountsfor47percentofimportsandhalfofFDI.Thedomesticvalue-addedembeddedinexportstotheUSamountsto8percentofGDP—comparedto6percentofGDPtoEuropeand3percenttoChina.Thelargestexposurebysectorisintravelgoods,gar-ments,andfootwear,whichcompriseabouthalfofexportstotheUSandemployaroundonemillionworkers—80percentofwhomarewomen.
