In 2024, Hong Kong’s stock market demonstrated resilience amid global economicuncertainties, geopolitical tensions, and China’s economic stagnation. Stimulusmeasures announced by China in the third quarter triggered a strong rebound inthe Hang Seng Index, which surged by 18% over the year. The rally has continuedat the time of this writing, driven primarily by the technology sector. A key catalystfor this excitement is the rise of China-grown DeepSeek, an artificial intelligencecompany developing large language models capable of rivaling – and in somemeasures surpassing – their United States counterparts, while achieving significantcost efficiencies. This breakthrough underscores China’s growing ability to innovateand compete in the global technology arena. DeepSeek DIVIDENDS 股息 The board of Directors of the Company has resolved to recommend for the approvalof the shareholders of the Company (the “Shareholders”) at the forthcoming annualgeneral meeting of the Company to be held on Friday, 30 May 2025 (the “AGM”)the payment of a final dividend of HK0.28 cent per share and a special dividend ofHK0.16 cent per share for the year ended 31 December 2024. The proposed finaldividend and special dividend will together make a total dividends for the year 2024of HK0.44 cent per share (2023: Nil). Subject to the approval by the Shareholders at the AGM, the proposed final dividendand special dividend will be paid on Friday, 20 June 2025 to the Shareholderswhose names registered in the register of members of the Company at the close ofbusiness on Wednesday, 11 June 2025.
