The 3rd edition of the eReadiness 2022 survey report by Strategy& provides insights on the short-term development of e-mobility in 7 European markets (France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK). The study aimed to capture market perspectives and help OEMs identify viable options to ensure short-term commercial effectiveness. The sample consisted of 4,600+ consumers surveyed through a web-based tool, and the eReadiness index was built on 4 main dimensions: government incentives, infrastructure, supply, and demand. The study focused on two different architectures of electric vehicles, Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles (PHEV), and the results showed that the share growth registered in the first half of 2022 has not yet been fully converted into relevant revenue streams. The war in Ukraine has also posed challenges for OEMs, requiring them to redefine their market approach. The report provides recommendations for OEMs to maximize the return on investments in e-mobility.
