Approximately 595.15millionsq.m.of commodity housing was sold,representing adecrease of approximately 5.3% over the corresponding periodin the previous year. Sales of commodity housing amounted toapproximately RMB6,309,200 million, representing an increaseofapproximately 1.1%over the corresponding period in theprevious year, of which sales of residential properties increasedby approximately 3.7%. 2023(1)2023330(2)2023518(3)2023620(LPR)15LPR10 Data from statistics bureaus at various levels show that in thefirst half of 2023, the real estate industry of China declined tovariousextents,whether in terms of investment,area underconstruction or area sold, reflecting the prolonged recovery ofthereal estate market even after the relaxation of pandemiccontrol policies. Government departments at various levels havebeen implementing a wide range of policies in response to thecurrent state of the real estate industry, in order to stimulateconsumer confidence in property ownership. Examples include(1) the Notice on Synergistic Cooperation to Provide “TransferofMortgage”Facilitative Services,jointly promulgated by theMinistry of Natural Resources of China and the China BankingandInsurance Regulatory Commission on 30 March 2023,apolicywhich could spur demand from move-up buyers andsalesvolume of new developments,in turn encouraging avirtuous cycle in the real estate market; (2) the Notice on MattersConcerning the Withdrawal of Housing Provident Fund For DownPaymentof New Pre-sale Commodity Housing DevelopmentPurchase s( Trial),jointly promulgated by the Zhe ngzhouHousing Security and Real Estate Management Bureau and theHousing Provident Fund and implemented on a trial basis from18May 2023,a policy which could
